So this is why I have been cautious in the past.Īfter reading this forum and the Yamaha forum I've read enough that has instilled a bit of confidence in Ivans work so I'm going to give it a go. I've done enough work with PC's that I know that flashing a BIOS or UEFI can make nice improvements, but manufacturers always warn you that if anything goes wrong during the flashing process it can render your PC a brick. Does it really matter? I'm not really sure. Does Ivan or anyone that does these flashes have all the profiles for each year. The factory settings for a V900 bike made in 2005 might be slightly different than a V900 made in 2019. The thing that has been a cause for concern for me is that once you flash a processor it can sometimes be difficult to get back to the exact factory settings. And it didn't matter what setting it was on) (It did stop the popping on deceleration. There may have been differences inside the engine that I couldn't see but no real difference in acceleration, idle, performance, or gas mileage. I used the Cobra Fi2000 unit on my Yamaha 950T and no matter where I put the settings I could tell no difference in the way the bike ran. I thought I would have more control over how the bike ran.
